If you’ve always had dark eyes then the chances are pretty good that you’ve thought about what color you would want if you could change your eye color. This is great because when you are introduced into the world of colored contacts you will already have an idea of what colors you’ve been wanting.

You can find pretty much every color in the rainbow and then some, but since you already know what color you have in mind you will be set on them if you are just now getting into picking your first contacts.

Blue contact lenses are a great start for getting a cool color to change your eyes. They aren’t too drastic, and because they are a very popular color naturally, they won’t give you tons of attention which you probably don’t want at first. Maybe after you change to more drastic colors like red contacts or black contacts you will want them, but for now keeping it at a simple color like blue or green contact lenses will be your best bet.

Whatever color you end up with it’s more important to make sure they are the right prescription, size and shape, and that you understand what you are getting into. If you are new to contacts and only wearing them for the change of your eyes, then you need to learn the basics of contacts before you start wearing them. It’s not worth risking your eye sight or health for something like a simple color change.

Everybody wants to save money, and that is to be expected. When it comes to buying contact lenses, or even glasses, a little research can go a long way to saving you a lot of money, and it’s really not too hard. The first thing you need to do is get a valid prescription from your eye care specialist and/or doctor. Most eye care professionals will give you a year long prescription so you don’t have to keep going back in to check up every month or so.

Since your vision usually doesn’t change much in a year’s time, this is usually enough time in between visits to prevent any further issues. If you do have a problem with your vision that comes up with between visits due to unforeseen circumstances make sure you visit them immediately.

If it’s the first time you are buying contact lenses then you might have a lot of questions at first, and those are natural. Don’t be afraid to ask them and get those pesky questions out of the way so that once you understand how it all works, you can start figuring out how to save money on this new addition to your bills.

Contact lenses can be expensive if you don’t put in effort in getting discounts, buying the right amount or purchasing them from the right place. Fortunately with the Internet you can shop around enough places that you really never should have to purchase any contacts without getting them on at least some sort of sale.

Once you have your prescription you can go online and find out the best deals, and get ready to prove you have the prescription, make the payment and you will have them shipped out very quickly in most cases. If you are going for colored contact lenses then depending on the season you might want to give it a little more time than usual as the orders typically start getting really backed up.

There are a great deal of contact lens sites online so you should visit them all to see what kind of specials they are offering before you make your final purchase. Some of the more popular sites are Vision Direct, and 1-800 Contacts. There are some smaller sites that sometimes put up a great deal, for a short period of time just to attract attention to their smaller site so they can try to compete with the big boys. These are also worth checking out.
